Definition

Approximately, the distance between the tip of the pinkie and the tip of the thumb when all fingers are outstretched.

Uses

Capo Ferro's constraint states that one should not constrain an opponent's blade closer than one palmo to the point.

Capo Ferro tells us that the proper position of the arm in third is to hold the forearm level with the elbow one palmo from the flank.
