Academie Duello: Blue Cord

The blue cord is the second rank in the progress of study at Academie Duello. This rank corresponds with the historical Scholar rank. In addition to the knowledge requirements listed below, a student acquires this rank by demonstrating the ability to apply basic technique and maintain good form under the pressure of combat. This rank is succeeded by the red cord.
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic posture and proper structure in abrazare, and how to break an opponent's structure.
- The three volte.
- Proper form of the four rapier guards.
- Controlling the line and measure.
- Use of the off hand.
- Scholarship: reading of Capo Ferro's Gran Simulacro, section "Of the Art".
