The red cord is the third rank in the progress of study at Academie Duello. This rank corresponds with the historical Free Scholar rank. A student acquires this rank by demonstrating the ability to apply sophisticated technique and maintain good form under the pressure of combat. This rank is succeeded by the silver cord.
