Figure that strikes with a scannatura by a thrust to the right flank with a passing-lunge while the adversary disengages to strike.

Translation

FIGURE THAT WOUNDS BY SCANNATURA WITH A THRUST TO THE RIGHT FLANK ON A PASS, WHILE THE ADVERSARY DISENGAGES TO STRIKE.

The form of striking known as the scannatura happens in the following manner: C has constrained D's sword on the outside, and D disengages a thrust to C's face. C encounters his enemy's sword on the outside lowering the point into second, and passing with the left leg in the same tempo to wound in the flank, finishing by lowering his body and seizing the hand, as illustrated.
