Outside Line

(Redirected from Outside)
Definition
When both your sword and your opponent's sword are gripped solely in the right hand or with the right hand leading (in the case of a two handed weapon), the outside refers to Lines of Attack to the left of the opponent's sword.
This term comes from the fact that when a weapon is wielded one-handed it is generally held more to the right-side of one's body, thus having your sword to the left of your opponent's places it's point and edge generally outside the silhouette of the opponent's body, whereas being to the right of their sword would generally place your point and edge inside of their body.
