Thrust Sequence

Forward Sequence

I. Lower Left Thrust

  1. Begin in dente del chingiale.
  2. Raise the blade upwards by rotating the pommel about 100-110 degrees.
  3. Advance and drive the sword forwards into posta longa.

II. Lower Right Thrust

  1. Bring the sword towards yourself and downwards to the right into porta di ferro.
  2. Push the pommel slightly downwards and to the right, causing the blade to rise from porta di ferro forwards.
  3. Advance and drive the sword forwards into posta longa.

III. Centre Thrust

  1. Draw the sword back towards your chest into posta breve.
  2. Advance and drive the sword into posta longa.

IV. Upper Right Thrust

  1. Shift your weight onto your back foot, leaning away and drawing the sword with you into a variant of posta di finestra with the hilt of the sword covering your face at a diagonal and the sword pointing upwards at about a 45 degree angle.
  2. Shift your weight back to your front foot, leaning forwards and driving the sword into a regular posta di finestra.
  3. Advance and turn the sword in an arc, your forward hand curling outwards, into posta longa.

V. Upper Left Thrust.

  1. Shift your weight onto your back foot, leaning away and drawing the sword with you into a variant of posta di finestra sinestra with the hilt of the sword covering your face at a diagonal and the sword pointing upwards at about a 45 degree angle.
  2. Shift your weight back to your front foot, leaning forwards and driving the sword into a regular posta di finestra sinestra.
  3. Advance and turn the sword in an arc, your forward hand curling outwards, into posta longa.


Backward Sequence

I. Upper Right Thrust

  1. Begin in posta longa.
  2. Shift your weight onto your back foot, leaning away and drawing the sword with you into a variant of posta di finestra with the hilt of the sword covering your face at a diagonal and the sword pointing upwards at about a 45 degree angle.
  3. Shift your weight back to your front foot, leaning forwards and driving the sword into a regular posta di finestra.
  4. Retreat and turn the sword in an arc, your forward hand curling outwards, into posta longa.

II. Upper Left Thrust.

  1. Shift your weight onto your back foot, leaning away and drawing the sword with you into a variant of posta di finestra sinestra with the hilt of the sword covering your face at a diagonal and the sword pointing upwards at about a 45 degree angle.
  2. Shift your weight back to your front foot, leaning forwards and driving the sword into a regular posta di finestra sinestra.
  3. Retreat and turn the sword in an arc, your forward hand curling outwards, into posta longa.

III. Centre Thrust

  1. Draw the sword back towards your chest into posta breve.
  2. Retreat and drive the sword into posta longa.

IV. Lower Left Thrust

  1. Lower the sword downwards into dente del chingiale.
  2. Raise the blade upwards by rotating the pommel about 100-110 degrees.
  3. Retreat and drive the sword forwards into posta longa.

V. Lower Right Thrust

  1. Bring the sword towards yourself and downwards to the right into porta di ferro.
  2. Push the pommel slightly downwards and to the right, causing the blade to rise from porta di ferro forwards.
  3. Retreat and drive the sword forwards into posta longa.
  4. Lower the sword downwards into dente del chingiale.
